Eastman's Online Genealogy Newsletter: Church Issues Cease & Desist Order to Genealogist

An interesting article from Dick Eastman.  Doing your own research in local cemeteries can be a rewarding experience when you discover information about your ancestors.  What happens when you decide to start collecting information about other people buried in the cemetery and make it available to the world?  Well, one Church in Kentucky decided that the information on the tombstones was private and you could not publish pictures of stones not part of your family without the consent of the deceased person’s family.

Interesting reading for those researchers involved in local cemetery reading projects where information and photographs are taken from the stones and markers and shared with the public.
