Social Event in Nicasio
On the afternoon of the Forth, Hon. Frank Rodgers’ residence was surrounded, or invaded, by a merry host of the people of Nicasio Valley, who took possession not only of the smiling Judge, but of his family and premises, and had things pretty much their own way until the next morning. The company were attended by musicians, who inveigled the young and giddy into dancing, and as there were no old folks in the company, they all danced. As the evening waned, the ladies invaded the dining room, where they spread a royal feast, of which they all partook. It transpires that the occasion was the Judge’s 51st birthday, and this was the method taken by his friends and neighbors to tide him over the interesting epoch.
